About Cynthia Devers
Cynthia (“Cyndi”) Devers is an aviation and aviation safety enthusiast. She trained in both fixed wing aircraft and rotorcraft, and has worked on aviation accident, wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases during her career. Cyndi has been involved in every aspect of complex aviation products liability litigation, including forensic examination of the wreckage throughout the United States, participating in flight demonstrations, litigation, trial, and appeals in state and federal courts nationwide.

In August 2019, Cyndi was an integral member of the trial team, sitting as second chair, that obtained a $9,000,000 verdict after six weeks of trial due to the failure of the Lycoming engine’s single drive dual magneto on take-off in a Mooney M20 aircraft that fatally injured the pilot and passenger. When the defendant, Continental Motors, Inc. filed its eighth appeal, Cyndi wrote the appellate brief, and argued before a panel of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, which upheld the verdict.
Cyndi was also part of the legal team that obtained an $11,000,000 verdict for an engine failure accident in a twin engine Cessna after a two-week trial in Philadelphia. In addition, she has overseen complex aircraft accidents, such as the crash of a Hawker 800 Jet in Owatonna, Minnesota, helicopter loss of control incidents, ignition and fuel delivery system failures, autopilot failures, and electrical failures, to name a few.
She has tackled complex legal issues such as subject matter jurisdiction of the federal courts, personal jurisdiction, and aviation victims’ rights under the General Aviation Revitalization Act.

- July 31, 2008 Crash of a Hawker 800 Jet Charter in Owatonna, Minnesota
- August 8, 2007 Crash of a Cessna T337G in Chamblee, Georgia, which resulted in a $9,000,000 jury verdict
- December 10, 2006 Crash of a Piper PA-32R-300 in Charlottesville, Virginia
